Yet despite all his contributions, he is often ignored and overlooked. People prefer to remember Edison, his great rival, who was better connected and far more gifted at marketing. Tesla, for his part, spent years working in the shadows, without the recognition he deserved.
Even today, his legacy is often relegated to museums, far from public consciousness. The technologies he developed are treated as mere curiosities of the past, with no relevance to our modern lives.
Yet if we take the time to look more closely, we can see that this man was far more than a simple inventor. He was a visionary — a man who saw the future before anyone else. But unfortunately, the world was not ready to follow him in his vision.
And so, though he has faded into obscurity, his name should be on everyone's lips. We cannot allow his legacy to be lost, for that would be a disservice to all those who worked so hard to advance our society.
He appears in many works of fiction, notably the steampunk film "The Prestige". He is most often portrayed as a mad scientist in these steampunk works. These iterations of Tesla as an archetype make him a true father of the retro-futurist genre (tabletop RPGs, video games, cosplay, geek subculture).
